Joe Pulliam and his three paddling buddies formed Dagger Kayaks. Their vision was to see a flourishing industry in sports equipment and especially for kayaking. They opened their business in Roane County, Tennessee after they completed their extensive research and hard work. Choosing this area for economical reasons as well as access to a number of quality paddling sites.

Dagger kayaks are known mainly for their whitewater boats, even though they do have numerous lines of recreational and touring boats as well. Some of their latest whitewater designs include the award winning Crazy88 series which has a fused D-Bone sub frame and a center rail that stiffens the hull and reduces the weight which allows for increased aerial capabilities as well as adjustments for seat, hip, thigh and back which allows for better control.

Other models include the Kingpin, Mamba, Juice, Nomad and RPM. In 2005 Dagger was recognized and awarded the "gear of the year" by Outside magazine for their Crazy88 series. The Nomad series kayaks have distinctive safety features as well as rock solid design. For big air and big moves then the Agent white water kayak is great.

The Dagger Approach is a hybrid crossover touring and white water kayak.
